HISTORY
The Procurement Unit of Ahmadu Bello was re-established in 2016 by the decision of the University Management under the leadership of the Vice Chancellor and Accounting Officer of the University; Professor Ibrahim Garba to carry out the role of providing the services of the procurement needs of the University. The Unit established as standard requirement of all public entities as enshrined in the Public Procurement Act (PPA), 2007. And expected of a university of the highest standing, the Procurement Unit reflects the needs, the aspirations, and the social and intellectual heritage of the University in which it is located.
Procurement Unit of Ahmadu Bello University has grown within the shortest possible time to become the most effective, efficient, influential part of the University. Consisting of two (2) Sub-Units, and Offices in Academic Departments, Faculties, and Research Institutes, the Unit offers standards practice for the procurement of works, goods and services and disposal of University’s assets and the attainment of transparency, competitiveness, cost effectiveness and professionalism in the procurement system.
